ABOUT YOUR START KEELBOAT COURSE
Approximately 15 of the 18 hours are spent on the water, with an additional 3 hours focused on
ashore based knowledge such as basic weather, parts of the boat and responsibilities of the crew and skipper.
This is done in workbook format with assistance from the instructor.
There is no theory as it is all practical knowledge to supplement on the water training.
The formal standard should be reviewed by clicking on the Sail Canada Standard link. A summary however of the skills includes:

rig and de-rig the boat – knots – manoeuvring under power
boat handling under sail – weather – responsibilities of the skipper and crew
-Mon + Wed or Tues +Thurs 6pm-9pm for 3 weeks
